Computer Died
« on: October 19, 2020, 10:18:02 pm »
Hi all,

Just to let you all know that my computer just died today and most of my ebooks were on the hard drive. I don’t know if my pc can be fixed or not.  If not, Hopefully i can find an affordable pc to buy by the end of this week.  Unfortunately, all my 2020 harlequins are lost.

Hi Diana
Sorry about your sad unexpected fatality hope it didn't die a painful death!
I have all of your files for this year saved on an external hard drive if you want them.  I will have to teach myself to convert them to RAR first as the files are then smaller. When you have re computerised PM me if you want the files sent to you

Regards Heritk

Hi,

I was looking into how i could use the hard drive as an external drive so maybe I could retrieve all my books and put it into a new drive.  I have not tried it yet but fingers crossed 🤞. I had the pc since 2005, so maybe it was time 😭. I feel bad because I had all the 2020 harlequin books and book packs ready to upload too.

Sometimes you can get lucky and the harddrive is not corrupted. Good luck with your resurrection - a godlike computer technician would be handy in these situations I think.

Hope the hard drive is accessible

So sorry to hear about the death of your hard drive.  Mine recently died and I had to replace it but the "godlike" technician was able to save the contents to an external drive for me.  Hoping someone can do the same for you.

I used a sata/usb plug to transfer my data to a new drive. so i'm happy i didn't loose anything. the new computer i got runs Windows 10 so I'm having a little difficult adjusting to it since I'm used to windows 7.
